Shaft Knife Tuesday, May 13th 2008

Protect your propeller and stern gear with this simple, low cost device. Now in its tenth year and with thousands in service the SHAFT KNIFE is a proven success. Simplicity is the secret. Prices start from £70.00 plus V.A.T.

EFFICIENT

Manufactured in high quality 316 stainless steel the SHAFT KNIFE works when its needed and cannot suffer from shear loads. Other devices have passing cutting edges which can cause shear loads when cutting and this can be disastrous if a solid object is encountered.

AFFORDABLE

Due to its simplicity the SHAFT KNIFE is a low cost product and does not suffer from complicated bearing replacement and maintenance. It might occasionally require sharpening.

EASY TO FIT

Remove the propeller, dimple the shaft to locate and fit the SHAFT KNIFE and replace the propeller. It's as easy as that. No special tools required and no boatyard charges for fitting.

HOW TO SELECT YOUR SHAFT KNIFE

1    Measure the EXACT shaft diameter.

2    Measure the diameter of the propeller boss and outboard bearing or 'P' bracket. Use the largest of these dimensions to match the "Hub range" in the table below.

i.e 35mm shaft size with a propeller boss of 60mm would be Model SK2.

When ordering please state "Exact shaft size" and "Model"

Due to the compact size of the SHAFT KNIFE most installations will have sufficient room to fit the unit. However fitting a spacer or flexible coupling will overcome the remaining problem installations.
